RVCC Final Exam Schedule

Fall 2024

How to Find the Day and Time of Your Final Exam

Each class is assigned an exam day and time based on the day(s) it meets during the week and its starting time. To find when an exam is scheduled, please use the Final Exam Schedule Inquiry option. Exams will be given in the room in which the class normally meets on the exam day.

To find the day and time of your exam, note the day(s) on which the class meets and its beginning time. Then, using the Final Exam Schedule Inquiry, find the appropriate entry for the meeting day(s)–beginning time combination. For example, a Tuesday-Thursday class beginning at 10:00 am has its exam scheduled for Tuesday at 9:30 am.

The exam schedule is used for classes meeting on the main campus and at the Bridgewater site. Classes that do not meet on the main campus or at Bridgewater, such as those meeting in Franklin, Bound Brook, etc., may need to schedule final exams at different times. Students at these sites should check with the faculty member to confirm the date, time, and location of their exams.

Science courses with both lecture and laboratory meetings will use the days and beginning time of the lecture to determine the exam period. The exam will be given in the room used for the lecture.

If a class changes rooms in the middle of a class period, the exam will be given in the room in which the class begins.

Students in web-based and hybrid (combination of web and in-person meetings) classes will receive final exam information from the course instructor.

Final Exam Periods

7:00 am – 9:00 am        12:30 pm – 2:30 pm        5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
9:30 am – 11:30 am        3:00 pm – 5:00 pm        8:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Since not all final exams conform to the standard exam schedule, students should confirm the day, time, and location of each exam with the instructor.

Final Exam Schedule Guidelines

The standard exam period is two hours and there is a thirty minute break between exams.

Faculty members will confirm the day, time, and location of the final exam with their classes at least three weeks prior to the end of the term. An announcement should be made in class and an email sent to students. Exceptions to the exam schedule will be communicated to students by the instructor.

Selected Studio Art (ARTS) courses may schedule final exams that differ from the standard final exam periods listed on the published exam schedule. Instructors will make every effort to offer the exam on the day and at the time most closely approximating the day and time the course actually meets. The instructors in these sections will inform students of the exam’s duration, day, starting and ending times, and location at least three weeks before the end of the term. If a student finds that the exam conflicts with one scheduled for another course, s/he needs to consult with the instructor of the conflicting class to reschedule that exam.

If a student has a scheduling conflict or more than two exams scheduled for one day, the student may appeal to a faculty member to have one of his/her exams rescheduled. The student should complete a Request to Reschedule Exam Due to Schedule Conflict form in the Enrollment Office (located in the College Center) and bring it to the instructor for approval. Scheduling conflict appeals should be brought to faculty members at least two days before the exam is scheduled to take place.

Students requiring special accommodations for a final exam need to make arrangements with the faculty member and the Testing Center, if necessary, to schedule their exams.
